Preparing for your Installation
STEP ONE: give your hair the love it deserves and do all the deep conditioning you can.
STEP TWO: With a maximum of 2 days before your appointment, please do the following:

Clarify your hair

Ideally with a clarifying shampoo 💆🏾♀️🧖🏾♀️.

Clarifying shampoo helps to remove any kind of residual product and remnants of hard or chlorinated water

Getting your hair as clean as possible ensures that we start your locs with the cleanest base possible in an aim to have a healthy foundation to your locs.

Usually a clarifying shampoo will state on the packaging whether it is a clarifying shampoo.

Some examples of shampoos that I continue to use and recommend on Microlocs are:

Giovanni- 50/50 Balance Hydrating- Clarifying Shampoo

Head and Shoulders- Classic Clean Anti Dandruff

Herbal Essences- Purify& Hydrate

After rinsing, oil your scalp ( e.g Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil)

Add a moisturising conditioner or deep conditioner keep this on with the oil for a minimum of 30 mins, cover your hair with a plastic cap 🧖🏾♀️ to allow the products to penetrate your strands

Rinse out 🚿- Do not add further products

Stretch your hair using your preferred method ( plaits, cornrows, flat twists, threading, blow drying NOT too STRAIGHT

Ensure that your hair is detangled and stretched ready for your appointment 👩🏾🦱
